Scenic Mountain Biking

NDR

Leave No Trace

"Mountains are not stadiums where I fulfill my ambition, they are cathedrals where I practice my religion ... I go to them as human beings go to temples. From their towering heights I see my past, dream of the future and, with an unusual acuity, I live the experience of the present moment ... My vision clears, my strength renews. In the mountains I celebrate creation. In each trip I rejuvenate. "

We are a family owned and operated business.

The term NDR (Do not leave a trace) is a policy adopted worldwide by responsible tourism companies, who value the maintenance and conservation of protected areas. It is a way to take advantage of all the natural beauty that the mountain, park, forest or beach offers you, causing the least possible impact on the local ecosystem. It can be summarized in the following main practices:

We are a family owned and operated business.

1. Take care of the trails and campsites wherever you go

2. Bring your trash back

3. BRING YOUR WASTE BACK

The claim that burying feces has no impact on the ecosystem may not be true. It depends on 3 factors: depth of the hole, distance from a watercourse and soil decomposition capacity. The latter is out of your control, as it depends on the amount of microorganisms present in the soil that has been removed and will cover the waste. Therefore, the most sustainable option is to bring it back and play in the toilet.

4. Leave everything in its place

5. Avoid making fires

6. Respect animals and plants

7. Be courteous to adventurers and locals

8. You are primarily responsible for your safety

It seems obvious, but it is worth emphasizing this point. Probably the place where you will be will be difficult to access. If rescue is needed, it will impact the local ecosystem. So stay tuned, and learn basic self-rescue techniques from your AA guide.
